Jean-Claude Van Damme makes his film debut in the well titled Bloodsport. A free American soldier in Hong Kong, Van Damme finds himself involved in Kumite (also spelled Kumatai), a highly illegal kickboxing competition. Whoever survives the fight will be crowned World Kumite Champion, a title that has many contenders for the death. The finale offers a duel to the death (or almost) between Van Damme and the reigning king of Kumite, Bolo Yeung.
