Based on a true story by author Jay Anson, The Amityville Horror tells the story of a large house on the coast of Long Island in which newlyweds George and Kathy Lutz and their three children move into what they hope will be their future parents' home. Dreams, but they get there in the end. ..it is terror. Eventhough the real estate agent fully reveals the history of the house, George and Kathy buy it. George says, "Houses have no memories," but they turn to the Delaney family priest, who believes Houseis haunted and blesses it. But the evil spirit that reigns in the house causes him to lose his sight and become seriously ill. George and Kathy face thehouse's fears with the help of another priest, Father Bolen, and a police officer, but are unaware that the spirit intends to possess George and then the children.
