The action takes place in an unnamed country in an unforeseen post-apocalyptic future. The meteorite landed and its impact created a mysterious phenomenon known as the Zone, which contains an eerie chamber believed to fulfill humanity's deepest desires. Only Stalkers can enter the Zone, leading to intrepid citizens testing their strength and desires against the Zone's mysterious treachery. The film tells the story of one such stalker who tries to bring two characters known as writers and scientistsinto the zone. The unfortunate trio embarks on a difficult and muddy journey, dodging military guards and invisible traps and enduring extreme psychological stress.
