Flash Gordon is an American football player who, together with Dale Arden,returns to New York after a long vacation until the plane in which they are passengers crashes into the laboratory of the Russian scientist Dr. Hans Zarkov falls. Both Flash and Dale become reluctant passengers aboard Zarkov's rocket as Zarkov sets course for the planet Mongo. When Flash and his companions arrive on Mongo, they discover that the planet is under the rule of the evil Emperor Ming the Merciless, and Ming attacks Earth withnatural disasters to destroy it. Realizing that Earth and humanity are in mortal danger, Flash decides to unite the Mongo kingdoms and team up with rivals Prince Baron and Prince Vultan to save Dale, who will become Ming's wife, defeat Ming and the Must save earth from destruction.
