In 16th-century Japan, Shingen, a powerful warlord, became as legendary as the motto on his war banners: "Swift as the wind, silent as a forest, fierce as fire, silent as a mountain." As he succumbed to his wounds in battle dies, Shingen orders his clan to find a doppelganger to replace him in order to keep his death a secret so that his enemies will not attack. The man chosen for this role is called Kagemusha (Shadow Warrior).
