Detroit Police Officer Axel Foley was thrilled when he was unexpectedly greeted by his best friend Mikey Tandino, who lives in California. Shortly after Mikey arrives in Detroit, Mikey is killed in front of Axel by a man named Zack. Axel tracks Zack to Beverly Hills, California, where Lieutenant Andrew Bogomil of the Beverly Hills Police Department assigns Officer Billy Rosewood and Rosewood's partner, Sergeant John Taggart, to track Axel down. Axel visits his girlfriend, Jenny Summers, who works atArt Store. With Jenny's help, Axel discovers that Zack is working for Jenny's art gallery owner boss, Victor Maitland. Maitland is a drug lord who operatesan internal warehouse, and after Maitland accuses Mikey of stealing some of Maitland's credits, Maitland orders Zack to kill Mikey. With the help of Jenny, Billy and Taggart, Axel does his best to stop Maitland and Zack from killing people again.
