Several years after the events of A Nightmare on Elm Street, Jesse Walsh and his family move into the home of Nancy Thompson, the sole survivor of supernatural killer Freddie's reign of terror. Jesse pursues dreams of a deranged killer, has trouble sleeping, frequently falls asleep at school, and clashes with his cursed family. His future girlfriend, Lisa, finds Nancy's card in Jesse's locker and slowly realizes what happened to her. Gym teachertries to give Jesse an unusual punishment when he catches him blowing air over a leather rod. Freddie reacts and brutally kills the coach in the bathroom, and Jesse is forced to flee the scene naked, fearing he will gocrazy. Even though his family thinks he's on drugs, Jesse knows Freddie is trying to get him. Sleep-deprived, lonely, and afraid of what he might do to his sister or Lisa, the young man tries to find himself in his friend Ron's room, especially when he tells them thatis making sexual advances; However, Freddie appears and kills Ron and paralyzes Jesse. Chaos ensues when Freddie/Jesse crashes Lisa's pool party and a fight breaks out at the abandoned factory where the madman first hunted the Springwood children.
