When the silent film Lucky Day is played, Dusty Bottoms and Ned Nederlander are fired and take a job in Mexico: to do a show with El Guapo, who is said to be the most famous actor in Mexico. They go there hoping to make good money and soon discover that El Guapo is not an actor but the leader of a gang of bad guys who oppress the people. In order to take revenge on the people's reaction, he kidnaps the mayor's beautiful daughter Carmen (because she is his wife). Now all the hopes of the villagers rest on the weak shoulders of three less talented actors who cannot go this time.
