The year is 2005. The war between the Autobots and Decepticons has escalated to Cybertron, and the Decepticons have taken back the war. Without Optimus Prime after the conflict on Earth claimed his life, the Autobots must face a time they no longer know. Megatron and a group of abandoned Decepticons are transformed by the last Transformer on a demon-dominated planet known as Unicron in Deadly Warriors. Now Galvatron, Scourge, and Cyclonus must destroy the Autobot Matrixin Unicron's honor or severely destroy Cybertron. However, Optimus Prime ordered the Autobots to rise from the grid and use the power of the Matrix to illuminate the Autobots' hour of darkness. Now faced with Prime's death, Hot Rod believes he can use the power of the Matrix to change Cybertron's battle lines and stop Unicron. Until then, the future of the Autobots and Decepticons is uncertain.
