Driven out of their village by a band of restless ghosts, Taoist priest Mao Ming and his two soul mates travel to another country to seek their fortune. There, Ming meets Master Gau, the "vampire hunter", who is trying to defeat an evil witch and her minions, whose goal is to conquer the human race. Gau also informs Ming that humans and ghosts cannot coexist peacefully. When Ming and the other ghosts split up, they are then attacked by the witch. As a result, Ming joined forces with Gauto end the evil threat.
