A fact-based psychological gangster story. Machine Gun, played by Ma Barker, leads his family gang (his sons) on a crime spree during the Great Depression. His loyal descendants possess every perversity imaginable. The sadistic Herman sleeps with his mother. When Fred Barker gets out of prison, much to Fred's chagrin, he brings home his cellmate/lover Kevin Dirkman, who is also sleeping with Mom.Lloyd Barker is an absent-minded drug addict who sniffs glue when there's nothing better around. Mama kidnaps lucky millionaire Sam Adams Pendlebury and holds him hostage for ransom. Ma's son Arthur Barker and Herman's prostitute Mona Gibson also appear in this story. The bloody ending is practically staged and visually stunning. Filmed in the Ozarks.
