Based on the play by Tennessee Williams: A party is planned for the 65th birthday of the patriarch of the “Big Daddy” family, but not everyone is in themood to celebrate. Big Daddy's son Brick, a former sports star, has a drinking problem and is cold towards his wife Maggie, even though she still desperately loves him. Brick's older brother Gooper and his wife hope to take control of Big Daddy's fortune. Big Daddy himself has just returned from the clinic where he underwent a cancer test. When his doctor calls 911 to inform the family of the test results, the family's lies, frustrations and accumulated secrets quickly come to light.
