Cruel London gangster Jack Carter travels to Newcastle for his brother's funeral. He begins to suspect that his brother's death was not an accident and begins a complex series of lies, deceptions, cover-ups and scams in the Newcastle underworld, hopefully leading to the man who killed his brother. Because of his cruelty, Carter displays the unstoppability of a cyborg in Terminator (1984) or a walker in Point Blank (1967), and he and the othercharacters in this film are prone to sudden and brutal acts of violence.
