Separate Tables offers a touching and funny insight into the lives of individual guests at a hotel on the south coast of England. Sybilla, a modest young girlspending the holidays with her mother, is drawn to a man who claims to be a war hero but hides his insecurities behind his bravery. In the end, Sibyl finds the courage to defend herself against her overbearing mother and live her own life. Hotel owner Miss Cooper is having an affair with a cynical writer until his glamorous ex-wife shows up unannounced onand uses her feminine wiles to lure him back.
