Serpico is a police officer from the early 1970s. Unlike all his colleagues, he refuses to share in the money that the police regularly extort from local criminals. Nobody wants to work with Serpico and he is constantly in danger of his “partners” putting him in a life-threatening situation. It appears thatnothing has been done, not even by the highest authorities. Despite the dangers he faces, he refuses to “go with the flow” and hopes that one day the truth will come out.
