Al Lewis and Willy Clark were once a popular vaudeville comedy team called Lewis and Clark, also known as The Sunshine Boys. After 43 years in the band, they had parted eleven years earlier on less amicable terms, as Willy wanted to continue his career while Al wanted to retire. They haven't spoken to each other since. Willy's nephew Ben, a talent agent, has since tried to find his uncle a job as an actor, but with little success, as Willy's age and declining skills prove. But a lucrative opportunity arises when a major network produces and broadcasts a historical comedy special and wants to feature the Sunshine Boys.Ben has to try to convince the comedy team to come together for this show. Ben must try to navigate each Sunshine Boys' quirks and individual personalities and show the network that there is harmony within the Sunshine Boys comedy team. Ben also has to worry about the lives of two dying men.
