After a plane ride, a young woman asks Susie's husband Sam to keep the doll for her so as not to ruin the surprise gift for her daughter. But the real reason is to avoid her companion Harry Roat, whom she wants to deceive with the drugs hidden in the doll. Harry discovers her treachery, kills her and leaves her body in Susie's apartment, where he finds Sam and the doll. He hatches an elaborate plan involving small-time bandits Mike and Carlino to trick Susie, who recently lost her eyesight in a fire, into revealing the doll's hiding place. They distract Sam and take advantage of Susie's blindness by posing as an old friend, a police officer and an eccentric father-son duo.Susie finally gets it and, with the help of her young neighbor Gloria, shows everyone that she really is a “world-class blind girl.”
