Sylvester Stallone plays former Green Beret John Rambo, a shell-shocked Vietnam veteran adrift in the Pacific Northwest. Harassment by an unsympathetic small-town sheriff brings back unpleasant memories of torture at the hands of the Viet Cong. After escaping from the prison where he was unjustly imprisoned, our mentally damaged hero vows revenge on the ungrateful sheriff. But before he blows up the sheriff and his town, Rambo must use his jungle spirit to escape the ruthless band ofState Troopers and the National Guard pursuing him through the forest.
