Roxanne (Darryl Hannah), a beautiful astronomer in search of a comet, and Chris, an attractive but inarticulate fire expert who has been hired to train the C.D.C.D.'s fire team. he immediately falls in love with Roxana, but he is sure that she will not notice anything about him except for his extremely prominent face, and he is quick to hide his passionate desires. However, Roxanne caught the attention of someone else, Chris. When C. D. learns that Chris is in love with him, he uses his gift for poetryhelp the inexperienced courtier capture his love.
