The owner of the oil company Petrox Corporation, Fred Wilson, invests his entire fortune in the search for oil on an unexplored island. The ship leaves Surubaia, Indonesia, with stowaway Jack Prescott, who wants to protect a monkey named Kong. During the journey, they find a shipwrecked Dwan in alifeboat in the sea in a remote area and bring her on board. The group discovers that the island is inhabited and that the locals worship a giant gorilla named Kong. They kidnap Dwan to sacrifice her to Kong.The crew ventures into the jungle to rescue Dwan. King Kong falls in love with Dwan and protects her from a giant snake. When Fred finds that the island's oil is not ready for exploitation, he decides to capture Kong and take him to an exhibition in New York. In the middle of the show, King Kong escapes, causing panic among the locals.
