English officer Sebastian Oldsmith and Irish-American adventurer Coronel Flynn Patrick O'Flynn attempt to blow up a German battleship for repairs in East Africa before the outbreak of World War I. There is also an ivory smuggling conspiracy. Based on a novel by Wilbur Smith and a true story, but that doesn't make this comedy adventure any more entertaining. Marvin's Hammer is absurd, Moore's incredibly wooden, and the big budget allows forplenty of pointless excursions and action-packedexplosions.
