A group of five close friends travel through the back roads of Texas to their grandfather's possibly ruined grave. Among them are Sally Hardesty and her disabled brother Franklin. They encounter an ugly hitchhiker who cuts himself and Franklin with a dangerous-looking knife. The others manage to throw the hitchhiker out of the vehicle, but shortly after the action ends they have to stop and go to a small, creepy clapboard house nearby in the hope of getting gas. None of theof them realize that this house is the home of the terrible Leatherface and his evil, insane family of cannibalistic psychopaths.The evil Leatherface cruelly kills one teenager after another. Sally soon becomes an unwitting guest in Leatherface's house and flees into the night to escape the mad cannibal and his loud chainsaw. Will he be able to escape the dark fate that has befallen his friends and brother?
