Thulsa Doom, the evil leader of the Serpent Cult of Set, attacks a Cimmerian village, decimating most of the population and selling the rest into slavery, including the young Conan. Conan becomes a powerful man and is trained as a warrior before gaining his freedom. Accompanied by the thief Valeria, who becomes his lover, and the archer Subotai, Conan carries out a scandalous attack on one of the temples of the Shadizar cult. This brings her to the attention of the king, who uses her to free his daughter from the clutches of Seth's cult in. This gives Conan the chance to reunite with Thulsa Doom and avenge his parents' deaths.
