Jiminy Cricket tells a story that begins with a carpenter named Geppetto carving a wooden doll. Geppetto names the doll Pinocchio and wishes the star that his creation will grow into a real boy. At night the Blue Fairy visits him and brings Pinocchio back to life with her magic wand. She tells him that if he is brave, honest and selfless, he will become a real boy.
