Dr. Conducting research to prove the existence of ghosts, Markway investigates Hill House, a large and strange mansion with a dark history filledwith violent deaths and madness. With him are the young, skeptical Luke, who is set to inherit the house, the mysterious and clairvoyant Schuyler, and the insecure Eleanor, whose psychic abilities make her feel like she is somehow intune with the spirits that inhabit the old mansion. As time passes, it becomes clear that they got more than they bargained for, as the ghostly's presence in the house manifests itself in horrific and deadly ways.
