As ratings skyrocket, new executive Diana Christensen seizes the opportunity to exploit Beales' messianic nervous breakdown, turning his maniacal, exclamatory rage into a vehicle for the network's first No. 1 show and nationalexcitement. Boss Max Schumacher thwarts middle-aged Diana, and even when she accidentally seduces him and easily gets him fired with the help of wild new station boss Frank Hackett.
